Trash The Dress (Aftershoot) Session in San Francisco of Bic + Henry

I have to say that I’m loving the idea of Trash The Dress Session (a.k.a. TTD a.k.a. Aftershoot).  The whole concept is a win/win situation for both the couple and the photographer.

I like to call it an aftershoot because it’s not limited to JUST trashing your wedding dress.  There are situations where there just isn’t enough time during a wedding day to take enough pictures of the couple and/or bridal party.  Situations where the ceremony site is at the same location as reception usually means photographers have about 45 minutes to take care of portrait shots.  For some couple that’s enough but for others, they want more.

The aftershoot fills in that need nicely.  After the wedding is done, the couple get dress one more time but this time, we have the flexibility to go to multiple locations and capture images that would otherwise not be possible during a busy wedding day.

Everyone is more relaxed (which is important because if something did happen during a wedding ceremony, then it would reflect on their faces).

And the bonus is that you don’t have to worry about getting the dress dirty  and no time constraints.  I recently did another amazing aftershoot at the Fairmont hotel in San Jose, but it rained pretty hard that day.  But since we didn’t worry about time, we explored the beautiful hotel to get some great pictures.

Here’s a prime example.  Bic and Henry aftershoot was done 2 weeks after their exhausting wedding (trust me, they had their plate full for 3 days straight from Friday to Sunday).  I’m still surprise that Bic got Henry to agree on it!

We had a chance to explore different areas of SF that I normally wouldn’t have gone too.  Bic did have one request (always make me nervous!):  to recreate a scene from a movie called 40 days and 40 nights (with Josh Hartnett) where a couple was crossing a street on Portrero Hill.

Here’s a snapshot of the scene:

After having sent her some teasers, I’m glad to report that I was successful in capturing her vision of what she wanted.

I was so thrilled, I made the picture my new blog header!

Anyway, enough about movies, here are Bic and Henry’s pictures!
